An angler use and creel census was conducted on the Kispiox River during autumn, 1975 by the Fish and Wildlife Branch to provide a basis for future management and protection of this world-renowned trophy steelhead fishery.The objective of this study was to collect detailed information on angler origin and distribution in the fishery, catch, angling methods, fishing effort and life history of the Kispiox steelhead. Results of the creel census are compared with data presented in the annual Branch publication, Steelhead Harvest Analysis.
