The purpose of the lake survey program in the Nanaimo River watershed was to gather baseline data on: biophysical features of the lakes; water quality; fish utilization and species and diseases present; and to find a suitable lake pen rearing site. Lake surveys were carried out on nineteen lakes within the Nanaimo River watershed, and this survey is on the Cassidy Gravel Pit.

The purpose of the lake survey program in the Nanaimo River watershed was to gather baseline data on: biophysical features of the lakes; water quality; fish utilization and species and diseases present; and to find a suitable lake pen rearing site. Lake surveys were carried out on nineteen lakes within the Nanaimo River watershed, and this survey is on the Cassidy Gravel Pit. This survey includes data on: access, drainage, physical characteristics, vegetation, temperature, and water chemistry. Cutthroat Trout and Stickleback were found in this lake.
