The purposes of this contract (control no. 01010) were to: evaluate the B.C. Parks system and individual parks with respect to the status of grizzly bears, potential for grizzly bear-people conflicts, significance to grizzly bear preservation in a regional, provincial, national and international context; interview a cross-section of B.C. Parks' staff members for their collective views on grizzly bear management and preservation; evaluate the existing BC Parks' grizzly bear-people management program and compare it to relevant approaches used by 8 other park/wilderness agencies in North America; recommend a state-of-the-art grizzly bear-people management program for B.C. Parks
