This report presents results of aquifer mapping in the area surrounding Vanderhoof, B.C. and between Houston, B.C. and Topley, B.C. along the Upper Bulkley River. The purpose of the aquifer mapping study was to review and adjust as needed the mapped aquifer boundaries and to identify previously unmapped aquifers to support groundwater diversion licensing. To meet these goals, a database of available information was compiled including water well records, existing bedrock and surficial geology maps, topography information, surface water bodies, and spring locations. Geology data were captured using key lithology terms to support subsurface interpretation. Bedrock geology, bedrock water level, and overburden water level maps were prepared for both study areas and bedrock elevation, overburden thickness, and surficial geology maps were prepared for the Vanderhoof Study Area. These maps were used in conjunction with eight geological cross sections in the Vanderhoof Study Area and five geological cross-sections in the Houston Study Area to review and update aquifer extents.
