Understanding how licenced water use, groundwater wells, and short term use approvals are distributed throughout British Columbia and among sectors is important for informing the direction of the provincial water science program. Furthermore, analysis of information available through the provincial data catalogue can be used to identify gaps and limitations that can be addressed through future data management improvement projects.
