In addition to the shift to GRTS sampling, this report summarizes the history and evolution of sampling and handling protocols. Gill net sampling has been the primary juvenile sampling method since 1998. The sampling and handling protocols in this report include photo references.

The acoustic telemetry work completed during this study period in BC included deploying 46 sonic tags (thirteen V13 tags and twenty-two V16 tags; 10 of which have temperature sensors and were deployed in the West Arm). A summary of the deployed tags is provided along with an explanation of the rationale; telemetry movement analyses are not part of this report. Gill netting and set lining protocols for 2020 and 2021 followed the index site approach used since 2003, and a general random tessellation stratified (GRTS) sampling design was implemented for the first time in 2022. The shift to include GRTS was made to improve randomization of sampling in all habitats and increase lake sampling as the lake has been under-represented at the population scale (Golder Associates 2022, Stephenson et al 2020).
