This report, done in accordance with the ecosystem classification methods used by the Ministry of Forests in the Vancouver Forest region, gives the results of the synecological study carried out in the MacMillan Park on Vancouver Island. This is an area of approximately 90 hectares that features a striking old-growth forest of Douglas-fir, western hemlock, western redcedar and grand fir once common on similar habitats throughout the British Columbia Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island before the onset of logging.
