The Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada (FERIC) conducted field assessments of inverted humus mounds produced by three implements. The Sinkkila HMF scarifier, MOFL mounder or (Ministry mounder), and Bracke mounder were used on four locations in northern British Columbia. In September 1986, FERIC measured mound configuration (mineral capping, height, length, and width) and compared the results for each machine and location.
