Site index equations are presented for black spruce (Picea mariana (Mill.) B.S.P.) and white spruce (Picea glauca (Moench) Voss.) for the Yukon Territory, Canada. The procedures employed follow the two stage method of developing site index equations and curves from stem analysis data described by Dahms (1975), Monserud (1984), Goudie (1984), Alemdag (1988) and others. Linear regressions between site index and decadal height were used to develop candidate transformations and final variables were selected for the site index equations using stepwise linear regression techniques.
