Abstract: Between 1971 and 1975, the British Columbia Forest Productivity Committee established 940 permanent-yield plots to determine the effects of fertilizing and thinning on immature Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and western hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla). Trees were to be measured for diameter, height, and pathological characteristics at 3-year intervals until 1988, and thereafter 6 years. The sample plots are at 85 locations (i.e. installations) throughout the Vancouver Forest Region. Baseline information (e.g. soil and weather) was collected at each installation. Other studies (e.g. production allocation) have also been conducted at individual installations. This report summarizes the characteristics of each installation and the measurements made.
