In summary, real time operational stream channel monitoring procedures have been developed that incorporate a sediment routing procedure linking erosion in the headwaters to sensitive areas downstream. A method for selecting monitoring sites was also developed. Based on tests of the procedure at Carnation Creek, the procedure was found to work exceptionally well.
