Growth response of western redcedar and western hemlock to fertilization treatments on salal-dominated sites continues to be examined with the SCHIRP field trials. Additional fertilization treatments indicated by past foliar nutrient monitoring were applied as per the plan. These trials will be monitored in future to determine the magnitude of the response to these treatments and to report the cost-effectiveness of fertilization.
