This project is concerned with the remeasurement of a series of variable retention experiments and edge study sites. The FIA funds covered a portion of the field and database work, preliminary data checks and field audits. Field work entailed site maintenance and measurement while data base work included loading and retrieving data from hand-held devices, and incorporating the data into as Microsoft Access based database. These data form the basis for analyses on the impacts of variable retention on tree growth. Most of the data collected is shown in Appendix II. A field audit of the data collected was undertaken and the findings discussed to help improve current and future work.
