The year 2003 was the third year of nutrient addition to enhance primary production in the Nimpkish River, Davie River, Sebalhall Creek and Cain Creek. Five drip stations each added a 2:1 mixture of ammonium polyphosphate (10-34-0) and ammonium nitrate (28-0-0). The target addition was 2.5 µg·L-1 of phosphorus and 3.85 µg·L-1 nitrogen. The total loading of liquid fertilizer, over a period of 70 to 92 days was as follows: Cain Creek ? 378 L, Davie River (bridge) ? 757 L, Sebalhall Creek ? 757 L, Duncan Pool (Nimpkish mainstem) ? 1,514 L, and the Powerline Crossing (Nimpkish mainstem) ? 1,710 L. The total load was 5,116 L. Water samples were collected on July 3, July 31 and August 28, 2003 and sent to PSC Analytical Services in Burnaby for analysis. Vandalism of tank sites occurred twice during the 2003 season. One tank at the Davie River site was stolen just before the tank was to be filled and the valve on the Sebalhall tank was fully opened and approximately 110 L were drained.
