Aquaterra Environmental staff visited the Site 3 Groundwater Channel on the Oktwanch River at the request of Western forest Products and Adaptive Resource Management in order to carry out fish salvaging operations. During routine monitoring of fish habitat structures in March, 2003 Aquaterra Environmental identified and reported on the changes in the water level within the Site 3 Groundwater Channel. A decline in the groundwater level is the result of a shift in the mainstem of the Oktwanch River to the right bank of the floodplain. More recently staff from WFP identified sections of de-watered channel, thus triggering the need for a fish salvaging operation.
