Abstract: The impacts of riparian forest harvest on the biodiversity and productivity of streams of the interior of British Columbia are not well known. Much of our knowledge about streams is based on research in coastal areas, despite large differences in hydrology, riparian forests, and temperature regimes. This research will test the effects of three physical changes associated with forest harvesting which may impact stream communities. These are the influence of temperature, disturbance due to peak runoff associated with hydrological modification, and the effects of increased UVB along with higher PAR. The primary organisms used as our test subjects are stream benthos. John S. Richardson and Charlotte Gjerløv,
