We propose to develop an Adaptive Management research program to compare different levels of harvesting between similar watersheds (i.e., similar size and composition of tree species, biogeoclimatic zones, etc.). The long-term monitoring program will be used as a direct measure, using radar and audio/visual surveys, of the effect of harvesting on Marbled Murrelet populations. Similar size areas containing suitable potential murrelet nesting will be compared under a series of forest harvesting scenarios. Madrone Environmental Services.
