Deactivation work has been completed on the M-Branch road, located near the community of Sayward, within TFL39, Weyerhaeuser Company Limited, North Island Timberlands Unit. The deactivation prescription report for this work was prepared by Tricouni Forest Management, dated January 11th, 2002. The lower part of M-Branch parallels Newcastle Creek, which is the community water supply for the village of Sayward. The deteriorating condition of the existing drainage structures on M-Branch posed a high risk of transporting sediment to the community water supply. Completion of the proposed deactivation works for M-Branch has successfully reduced the risk of sediment transporting into the community water supply.
