Abstract: Funding has contributed to the 6th year of a 7 year project aimed at revising the Biogeoclimatic mapping and refining the Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification (BEC) for the former Kamloops Forest Region (KFR). In this fiscal year we have completed BGC mapping at 1:50,000 scale for the 2.4 million ha Kamloops TSA and Wells Gray Park. The Alpine, Parkland and ESSF woodland biogeoclimatic units have also been remapped for the Lillooet, Merritt, and Okanagan TSA?s. A composite map for the entire 7.4 million hectare KFR is in preparation. In addition, we have produced a 248 page field guide to Identification of Biogeoclimatic Ecosystems for the Wetbelt of the Southern Interior Region. This document has been presented to operational foresters and is located on a web-site for downloading. Production of a 160 page document describing the classification framework for 7 additional IDF subzone/variants is nearing completion and will be available in mid-May as the final component of the 2004/5 planned activities.
