As part of Western Forest Products Ltd. commitment to the restoration of fish habitat within TFL 6 - North Vancouver Island Region, a number of large-scale, fish restoration projects have been completed. Restoration treatments include restoring fish access, streambank stabilization, rehabilitating channelized streams to provide better holding pools and riffles, re-establishing instream cover and structure by adding boulder clusters and large woody debris, and restoring or creating off-channel habitat. In February 2006, Northwest Hydraulic Consultants Ltd. (nhc) evaluated a number of projects to assess the effectiveness of the restoration works. This report presents the results Routine Effectiveness Evaluation (REE) of ten sites in TFL 6.
