A Site Index Adjustment (SIA) project is proposed for the Prince George and Fort St. James Districts of the Prince George TSA (Vanderhoof portion was covered by a previous project). The SIA process builds upon the Predictive Ecosystem Mapping (PEM) project currently underway and uses estimates of site index from the MOF SIBEC program in conjunction, with the PEM layer to obtain estimates of site index for randomly selected points in managed stands. The initial estimates are then compared to field measurements of site index for the same points, and a statistically valid adjustment to the initial estimates is developed. The result is a set of adjustment equations that will produce site index estimates for managed stands with minimal bias that can be use in timber supply analysis.
