Abstract: Morice Open House Summary November 4, 2005 Houston Mall Open house staffing: Carl Vandermark, Dwight Scott Wolfe, Jaret vanderGiessen, Jim McCormack, Les Kearns, Ritchie Morrison, Rob Payne Displays: IFPA fold-up presentation display, Morice-specific displays on scenario planning and SFM ; PowerPoint presentation on base case scenario visualizations; M&L IFPA website available to view on a second computer Publications made available to the public at the mall included: Draft Morice SFM Plan; a selection of 2003-2005 activity summaries; the summer/fall 2005 newsletter; past newsletters; IFPA brochure; Morice 'Fact Sheets' developed specifically for the open house. Some 16 publications were picked up by members of the public. Open House Contacts Throughout the eight hour period, some 50 people stopped by the display. Of these, 26 people asked questions, made comments, and/or discussed the plan. An equal number of people stopped briefly to read the displays and/or take a publication. Several people wanted specific information on the SFM plan, which was provided to them; Warner William, Chief of the MoriceTown Band Council, stopped in to discuss forestry issues;Tom Hunt, reporter from Houston Today also interviewed the group for an upcoming IFPA article; Frank McDonald, Morice PAG member, also stopped by; Ritchie Morrison, Tetrad Communications
