The road crossing was identified as potential to become plugged should the existing wooden box culvert fail. The wood culvert was installed some 20-30 years ago with a large amount of fill placed on top. It was deemed that the structure should be removed and a driveable ford crossing put in that will maintain pick-up vehicle access for future silviculture treatments. No forest development is planned in the area for the foreseeable future. Kwikoit Creek is part of the Scotch Creek drainage.
