Abstract: Terminal Forest Products Ltd. has developed a Sustainable Forest Management Plan (SFMP) that is consistent with the objectives outlined in the American Forest and Paper Association?s Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) 2005-2009 Standard. The fourth objective within the SFI Standard (2005-2009) specifically addresses biological diversity by stating: To manage the quality and distribution of wildlife habitats and contribute to the conservation of biological diversity by developing and implementing stand- and landscape-level measures that promote habitat diversity and the conservation of forest plants and animals, including aquatic fauna. Within the scope of sustaining biological diversity under Terminal?s SFMP there are two objectives: Objective 1: To manage the quality and distribution of wildlife habitats. Objective 2: To conserve biological diversity by developing and implementing stand and landscape measures that promote habitat diversity and the conservation of forest plants and animals. prepared by Sally Leigh-Spencer and Helen Reid.
