Abstract: The objective of the work is to improve fish access through the subject reach and improve local habitat value. Coho salmon, cutthroat and steelhead trout, and Dolly Varden char are the target species. Work was completed on the lower 300 m of East Awun Creek ? a tributary to Awun Lake. A total of 16 large woody debris (LWD) structures were placed between the lake and Awun Mainline road [refer to overview map - enclosed]. The channel is 4 ? 5 m wide, bankfull. Small woody debris accumulations were also removed from an off-channel feature to improve access and habitat value. Michael J. Milne.
