Abstract: Deactivation of the 3 branch roads totals 2.535 km. (The work of reactivating and deactivating the 4000 access road was not claimed in costs.) Level II field layout totals 5.460 km in the Easy/Kayouk (Jansen Creek) watershed, total of 6 branch roads, 2 of which have a High Overall Risk Rating.. Permanent deactivation of branch roads 4100, 4110 and 4111, in the Easy Creek watershed located 10 km north of Interfor Chamiss Bay Operations. Work includes removal of an undermined bridge crib on Br 4100. Br 4000 will be returned to current deactivation level. This is a road risk assessment that objectively documents road condition and likelihood of failure. Non-status roads are divided into logical segments for assessment. Road condition (hazard, maximum score 9), the impact if the road segment should fail (consequence, maximum score 9), and feasibility (maximum score 9) are recorded on field cards, allowing the area to be monitored for change of condition over time. Each road is scored according to these three features to produce an objective estimate of priority for deactivation. The higher the score, the greater the ROI for road deactivation (i.e. more risk will be reduced per dollar spent). Rick Lorch and Mike Wise.
