Abstract: This landslide bioengineering project had the following restoration objectives: 1. To establish a cover of pioneering woody species on the eroding slope. 2. To prevent erosion and associated downslope sediment transfer. 3. To stabilize soil material while allowing seepage/surface water to drain in a controlled manner. The environmental values at risk of being degraded if the slide was not dealt with were water quality and fisheries associated with the adjacent creek and streams further downstream (including Little River). The project is not located within a community watershed.
