The objective of the Branch Road 57 Permanent Deactivation project was to produce a stable road prism with no need for future maintenance. The recommended works are designed to modify the road prisms such that, where reasonably possible, there is low risk from road-related slope failures and sedimentation to downstream watershed values, which include water supplies to the Cities of Abbotsford and Mission, forest resources and downslope worker safety. The project is in a community watershed.
