Abstract: The purpose of the project was to enhance fish passage by removing a perched 1200 mm diameter corrugate metal pipe culvert in an unnamed S3 stream (known to have Rainbow Trout) and replacing the structure with an open bottom arch. A fish passage culvert assessment had been previously completed and assessed a score sufficiently high such that the project moved forward to construction. The crossing is not located within a community watershed Description of Design The design for this crossing site was for a 3,960mm x 1,680mm x 11,070 mm low profile open bottom GRS arch. Based on a stream hydrology assessment, the Q100 flow was calculated as 4.5 m3/second.
