This handbook arises from recognition of need for a uniform understanding of the types of Indigenous Heritage Features typically found within the Great Bear Rainforest. It is intended to support implementation of the objective for protection and stewardship of Indigenous Heritage Features that is in the GBR Land Use Order. The project was overseen by the Coastal First Nations Stewardship Directors Committee, including representatives from Gitga'at, Gitxaala, Heiltsuk/Haíl˜ zaqv, Kitasoo/Xai’xais, Metlakatla, Nuxalk, and Wuikinuxv.
