Abstract: During the analysis of data from bird censuses conducted in Garry oak (Quercus garryana) forests on southern Vancouver Island, opportunities arose to delve into questions relating to habitat use. This paper discusses possible interpretations of recent observations. Background information is presented in Shepard (1998).
