As part of the research phase of the federal-provincial fisheries resources enhancement program, this study was designed to (1) collect and summarize existing stream resources information for Vancouver Island utilizing a computerized data storage and retrieval system, (2) provide an initial standardized format for the collection of stream resource information which is compatible with computer retrieval systems, and (3) evaluate the desirability of implementing such a system for federal and provincial agencies within the province.
