Abstract: Dragon Lake is located 4.2km (2.6mi.) south of Quesnel. It is relatively large (225 ha, 556 ac.) with many public docks and boat launching facilities (klein and Heathman 1972). It drains into the Fraser River via its outlet, Dragon Creek. The major inlet, also named Dragon Creek, drains Hallis Lake (see map). Dragon Lake is stocked annually and an overnight gill-net set in 1972 indicated a near monoculture of rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri): 17 rainbow, 1 brook trout (Salvenlinus namaycush), and absence of coarse fish (Klein and Heathman 1972).
