Forest Renewal BC (FRBC) is a provincial Crown corporation whose mission is to renew the forest economy of British Columbia by enhancing the productive capacity and environmental values of forest lands, creating jobs, providing training for forest workers, and strengthening local communities that depend on the forest industry. It is responsible for investing in British Columbia’s forests, and the communities and people who rely on the forests. Forest Renewal BC represents a partnership among forest companies, forest contractors, workers, environmental groups, communities, First Nations, and government. In 1998/99, Forest Renewal BC (FRBC) moved from a proposal-based to a more strategic, target-based planning and program delivery. Umbrella Funding Agreements have given way to Multi-Year Agreements between FRBC and its partners.
