In 1993, the Wildlife Branch of BC Environment published the document “Guidelines for Technical Publications of the Wildlife Program”, by Elizabeth Stanlake. This style manual was produced to provide guidelines for authors preparing scientific or technical documents in the Wildlife Program, and to summarize the review and production procedures and to identify areas of responsibility for all persons involved in the production of such documents. In view of the fact that publishing style, such as abbreviations or capitalization, changes, the following recommendations are provided as addenda to the 1993 style guide. Where conflict arises between the 1993 style guide and this document, this guide is to be considered correct. Unless otherwise stated, only revised sections of the 1993 guide are included in this document. Please refer to the 1993 Guidelines for Technical Publications for sections that remain unchanged.
