Three species were inventoried in the Southern Interior of British Columbia (B.C.) from 1996 to 1998 in areas where conflicts were likely to develop with proposed timber harvesting. Sagebrush northern bog lemmings (Synaptomys borealis artemisiae) were found at 2 sites, and are only known from 8 localities (5 in British Columbia, 3 in Washington State). They are found mainly in fens, swamps, and marshes at 1,600 m or higher. Twenty Williamson’s sapsucker nests (Sphyrapicus thyroideus thyroideus) were found with most between 1,000 and 1,200 m elevation east and south of Penticton, B.C. We found 65% of the nests were in large (>70 cm diameter at breast height), live western larch with dead or broken tops. Four of 10 trees for which we have multiyear data were reused for a second year of nesting. The population of Williamson’s sapsuckers in British Columbia is estimated to be 100 nesting pairs. We found 634 mountain beaver (Aplodontia rufa raineri) nest sites on the east side of the Cascade Mountains, primarily a
