This report provides additional baseline information on the variability in annual recruitment of rainbow trout in mainstem Mission Creek in the vicinity of Gallagher's Canyon. Previous and on-going trout enhancement measures (i.e., minimum flow prescription, "smolt" releases and spawning platform construction) have necessitated continuing documentation of annual variation in rainbow trout recruitment relative to stream carrying capacity. In addition, sampled fry densities are, in part, perceived as a reflection of the relative strength of the returning adult spawning population, and hence, may indirectly indicate the success of enhancement measures.
