Increasing angler exploitation of a likely small and declining Lower Mainland sea-run cutthroat population focussed regional fisheries managers' concern on the opportunities for enhancement of this species. At the request of regional managers, the Fish Habitat Improvement Section investigated 40 Lower Mainland streams in the summer of 1979 to determine the scope and practicability for use of natural enhancement methods to increase the cutthroat population.
