Abstract: The Kennedy Flats Watershed Restoration Program (WRP) project under way in the Clayoquot Sound near Tofino combines road deactivation, habitat restoration at road crossings, and extensive instream habitat restoration work. The project is located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, approximately 90 km southwest of Port Alberni and midway between Tofino and Ucluelet (Figure 1). It borders Pacific Rim National Park and the popular tourist area of Long Beach. Over one million tourists visit the area each year, making visual aesthetics an important consideration in planning work.
