On December 9, 1980, the Honourable Stephen Rogers, Minister of Environment for the Province of British Columbia, announced the appointment of a special study team to report on a potential conflict involving habitat of the killer whale and a possible log handling facility at Robson Bight, on the northeast coast of Vancouver Island.
