As part of the Okanagan Basin Implementation Agreement, nutrient loadings to the main valley lakes were updated to indicate changes in loadings that had taken place since 1970 and to identify the current major sources of nutrients for management control purposes. Phosphorus loadings, the nutrient of greatest concern with respect to lake management in the Okanagan, are discussed with regard to trends and changes in lake quality in the Report of the Okanagan Basin Implementation Agreement. This report summarizes the nitrogen and phosphorus loadings to the lakes from different sources and details the methods by which the loading estimates were produced for sources where this information is not reported elsewhere.
