Abstract: This analytical method was prepared jointly by the Pacific Environmental Science Centre (PESC) for the British Columbia Ministry of Environment Lands and Parks (BCMELP) and by the British Columbia Laboratory Quality Assurance Advisory Committee (BCLQAAC), the BCLQAAC-Technical Sub-Committee and the BCLQAAC - Metals in Soil Task Force (John Davidson, Rob Gilbert, Steve Horvath, Robert Hunter, Lauretta Liem, Dr. Ed Paski, Henry Quon, Mark Saffari and Katherine Thomas). In mid-2000, a Round Robin Study of the Strong Acid Leachable Metals (SALM) in Soils (SOILSMET) method, partly funded by BCMELP, was undertaken. The ?Required QC Acceptance Criteria? listed in the Appendices for this method was generated using the data from the round robin study. The participation of laboratories in that study isgratefully acknowledged. Preparation of the method drafts by Henry Quon is also acknowledged.
