By the end of 1988, the ministry had set water quality objectives in 22 bodies of water throughout the Province. These objectives represent safe conditions or levels of contaminants which will protect the most sensitive water use in each body of water. This report presents the results of monitoring done to check attainment of the objectives in 1988. the report is for the use of the mangers of the water resource and will help guide them in carrying out more detailed assessments of the results. Familiarity with the background reports on water quality objectives for each basin is assumed.
