This report details the critical events that occurred Aug. 5, 2005 immediately after a derailment of a freight train and the spillage of a tank car of caustic soda into the Cheakamus River. The report provides the "lessons learned" and recommendations for consideration by the Ministry of Environment (MoE) and the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP).
