Ozone is one of the most phytotoxic air pollutants. A variety of plants including coniferous and deciduous vegetation and agricultural crops are susceptible to damage by ozone. Ozone enters plant leaves through stomata, where it ultimately supresses plant growth and reduces yields. The injury by ozone may be influenced by various environmental factors such as relative humidity, light, intensity and duration, soil-moisture, et cetera.
