Abstract: Pesticide applicator and dispenser training and certification has been accepted as an important way to prevent harm to people and to the environment from pesticide use. Such training and certification is required by provinces and states across North America. The effectiveness of such programs may vary widely depending on the type of training providing and stadards established for certification. It is desirable to have an ongoing system of program evaluation to ensure that the training and certification program is operating effectively.
