The government of British Columbia believes that the province's municipal solid and biomedical waste problems must be corrected as quickly and as comprehensively as possible. One of the major goals is to reduce the amount of municipal solid waste going to landfills or incinerators by 50% per capita by the year 2000, with an interim goal of a 30% reduction by 1995 (using 1990 as the base year). This document is an annual report for 1994 which illustrates how well we are progressing towards our waste reduction goals. The rest of this document is comprised of many graphs and tables charting this progress.
