The purpose of this review, conducted by the Integrated Pest Management Section, is twofold: Firstly, to conduct a detailed overview of the relationship between the Pesticide Control Act and the Environmental Appeal Board; secondly, to offer a set of conclusions and recommendations with regard to this process. The information used for this report was comprised of:
1) decisions (e.g. permit issuance) made by the B.C. Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection between January 1, 1990 and December 31, 2000 under the Pesticide Control Act, and,
2) appeals of these decisions to the Environmental Appeal Board.
The information used for this report was collected from published decisions of the Environmental Appeal Board, as well as decision and appeal information provided by Ministry offices.
