Abstract |
Road deactivation of Branch Road Dl2a was carried out to reduce the likelihood of landslides and sedimentation to a low level. Resources at risk consisted of the fish bearing waters of the Quatse River Watershed. Branch road DL2a had crossed several S3 and S4 streams and the older log culverts over them had failed or were showing signs of imminent failure. The most prominent older stream crossing on DL2a was located below Doreen Lake. Specific objectives included allowing resident trout and char to move down from Doreen Lake into the fish sensitive wetlands below. DL2a was permanently deactivated and vehicle access was blocked.
