Abstract
Project Objective: For 2007, to re-measure the trial seedlings and document the results accordingly. Thunder River: The purpose of this trial was not only to compare the fertilized trees to unfertilized trees, but also to compare fertilization to broadcast burning and also whether trees in broadcast burned ground would further benefit from fertilization. Cw and Sx are the trial species and there are 800 trees in the trial; the trial is in year 3. Lemieux Creek: The purpose of this trial was to determine the benefits of fertilization in drier ecosystems. In addition the trial is designed to compare the benefits of fertilization to mechanical site preparation and also whether trees in site prepared ground would benefit more from fertilization. This trial also has two types of fertilization techniques used; one being the fertilization at the time of planting with ?teabag? fertilizer, the other being fertilization at the time of lift where the fertilizer is directly injected into the plug of the seedling at the time of lifting at the nursery. The benefits of the two fertilization techniques are also being compared. Fdi and Pli are the trial species and there are 1000 trees in the trial; this trial is in year 3 as well.
